Spark Heat Transfer Measurements in Flowing Gases

Ë partir de techniques bases sur lÕinterfromtrie holographique, lÕnergie totale transfre par une tincelle aux gaz environnants a t mesure en faisant varier la gomtrie des lectrodes de la bougie dÕallumage, la vitesse des gaz, la pression et le temps de charge de la bobine, cette dernire tant un modle standard pour automobile. Pour les diffrentes combinaisons et valeurs des paramtres tudis, il a t observ une variation du "rendement dÕtincelle" (rapport entre lÕnergie transmise aux gaz par lÕtincelle lÕnergie lectrique fournie la bougie) allant de 20 60 %. Pour des conditions relles de fonctionnement dans un moteur, on peut estimer que lÕnergie transmise aux gaz par le systme dÕallumage est voisine de 30 mJ. Il est aussi montr comment ces mesures de lÕnergie totale transfre aux gaz, peuvent tre exploites pour caractriser en fonction du temps, la puissance transmise dans lÕtincelle gnre par un systme standard dÕallumage inductif.
